In December-January.
- we have an introductory session of the course.
- For now.
- But maybe in future years it will be in October-November!
In February.
the following topics are being studied:
1) Organizational structure of sports hiking in California.
2) General organization of a tourist trip. The most important principles
(How to do it in general, what to grasp for, and what to be sure to pay attention to)
About requirements to participants and heads of campaigns,
About regulatory documents – here;
about the areas of hiking tours – here, or later
3) Personal and group equipment for a hike 1-2 k.s. and PWD
(this topic is usually at the very first lessons of the course, so you can begin to pick up equipment immediately)
4) terrain orientation
(for the beginning – the minimum necessary set of information on this topic so that you can apply the knowledge in the first trainings).
5) more in detail – about the organization of a campaign: the daily schedule, the movement of the group on the route, the organization of the bivouac… etc.
And also about duties of participants of a tourist group.
6) first aid during the trip; contents of first-aid kit
(for a start – the minimum necessary set of information on these topics)
7) natural obstacles in hiking tours and ways to overcome them.
At the training sessions we will work out:
- the general organization of a hiking trip,
- moving on slopes with a self-balancing alpenstock,
- orientation on the ground,
- probably, and various other things, perhaps quite different, more complex (depending on the actual level of students),
- and also it is in training (and not in classes in Zuma) we learn the KINDs.
